The Rayvolt story began in 2017 with the CRUZER. Since then, the bike has been continuously developed and represents a new way of modern transportation. A clean, stylish and casual way to get from A to B.
Inspired by the era of the first motorcycles from the early 1900s and the Café Racer bikes of the 1960s mixed with a dash of California Beach Cruzer. This unique design, combined with our smart technology and a state-of-the-art brushless DC rear wheel motor, stands out from the crowd. A timeless means of transport.

engine
The hub motor in the rear wheel provides the necessary pulling power. This is a very complex, brushless 3-phase electric motor with 48 individual copper coils and magnets. There are two versions to choose from:
Smart Hub: 200W – 400W (max. 25 km/h = Pedelec)
Power Hub: 250W – 1,000W (Pedelec or with option for e-moped (registration required!))

The Smart Hub Motor can only be used in pedelec mode, while the large Power Hub Motor can also be used as an e-moped. However, prior registration is required in order to be able to drive legally on German roads.

Intelligent Pedal Assist
In addition to the gyro sensor, the CRUZER also comes standard with a complex PAS (Pedal Assist) sensor that measures the speed of pedal rotation. An additional torque sensor that measures the force of the pedal stroke can also be optionally retrofitted for some models.
The control calculates these two values and uses an algorithm to provide an absolutely smooth pedal stroke based on the impulse you give.

Intelligent Regenerative Braking System
We have developed an electronic braking and energy recovery system. Simply put, the Rayvolt brakes work like an extremely powerful dynamo as soon as you activate them.
The intelligence of our regenerative braking system lies in the link with the EIVA system and the gyroscope, which the wheel uses to detect the inclination of the surroundings.
When driving downhill, the additional braking energy required is provided by the regenerative engine brake.
